This major new railway will stretch over 100km and include 21km of new rail tunnels under central London and 10 new stations. Crossrail will increase London's rail capacity by 10% and bring an additional 1.5 million people within 45 commuting distance of London's major employment centres. Over 200 million passengers a year will use Crossrail when it opens in 2018. The members of VC Crossrail are all self funded and are raising money for a number of charities including The Railway Children.

All funds raised by The Papworth Challengers would help us to support disabled people and their families in your community. We provide them with the care they need, this can range from adapting houses to allow people to stay in their own homes for longer, providing personal support for those who are in need, a full activity programme for adults to enjoy at our day centres, youth clubs to encourage disabled teenagers to get together with their peers and have fun or helping people back into employment.

Across the whole of England we also run a Vocational Rehabilitation service with a comprehensive programme to support people who have had a life changing injury as a result of an accident, trauma or ill health with the aim to get them back into full time employment – this may require adaptations to their existing role or opening up new opportunities.

LONDON-PARIS Spirit Awards 2014

Every year the HotChillee Ride Captains choose a rider from each seeded groups that best represents the Spirit of the event. These awards go back to the days when the event was first founded in 2004. It’s not just about racing or beating fellow riders, there is also the help and encouragement that takes place with fellow riders in the peloton who may be going through a dark patch on the road.
