It's a year on, and I just wanted to post a message to let you know, Karen, that the thoughts of all of us were with you and the children as we wove our way through France again this year ...

I met Andy for the first time on this ride. I had the pleasure of his company for a short while after we left Hampton Court and again at dinner that evening. It is was with great sadness that I learnt that Andy did not recover from his injuries. He is frequently in my thoughts and I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to all his family and friends.

Karen although i never had the privilege to meet Andy - as a fellow cyclist i know he must have been passionate about cycling, about his family and about everything he put his hand to. My family and i have remembered you constantly in thought and prayer and offer you and your children our deepest condolences for your tragic loss. May you know in a very real way the love and support we feel for you at this very sad time. With love from Marc Logan and family - Sydney Australia

My deepest sympathy to Andy's family and friends. I had only ridden one YJA event, in 2007, but Andy had me leaving France knowing that I had made great, new, friendships with him and the others. I will miss the opportunity to share with him again and that we had hoped to meet on his family's planned trip to the states later this month.

When I came off my bike on stage 2, I was tired and bruised. You said to me: “Stay on my wheel, and you'll be fine". You were wearing the yellow jersey in cycling as well as in life. It has been an honour and a privilege to ride with you the past few months, and I will take you with me on every ride I will ever do. If Karen and the kids need a tow, I will make sure they find my wheel. Adieu mon ami et que Dieu te garde. (Greg Barber- Team CSC)
