Working in the trade, I already used many of the great products Specialized has to offer. The 2D helmet is a great fit and is incredibly light and very well ventilated. The eyewear is also very comfortable, and the adaptalite lenses work really well and change form light to dark and back again really quickly.
The bikes are great and once I got my position dialled in, the bike was fantastic to ride. It was fast, responsive and it handled really well. The shoes were also really good; I have not had a pair of Specialized shoes before but was really pleased by how comfortable they are and also how incredibly stiff they are without sending your feet to sleep. All the above will make doing the L2P this year even better!

I have been lucky enough as a Ride Captain to be given the opportunity to ride a women's specific Specialized bike. I have been training and racing on this bike and it suits me perfectly. It is light, extremely responsive, and it fits me well, so I am very happy with being able to ride the bike.
The Specialized 2D helmet is very comfy, and the Specialized shoes Body Geometry technology allows my feet to breathe on long rides which is very important. |

For 2009 my chosen bike is the new Specialized S-Works Roubaix SL2, built with Roval Fusee SL wheels. I have been riding my Roubaix since October 2008, and so far it has fulfilled its potential as an endurance road bike, offering me performance on demand, but remaining light and really comfortable. The slightly longer wheelbase and taller head tube suit my own more relaxed riding position, which really helps to keep me feeling fresh as the mileage increases on my training rides.
In addition to this I got myself a pair of Specialized Pro Road shoes (in white obviously!), and these have been really comfortable. The ergonomic sole really helps me avoid issues such as ‘hot-foot’ and other potential discomfort associated with long distance riding.

The Specialized bike is one of the most comfortable I have ridden. The handling is superb and cornering is fantastic. I am looking forward to taking the bike through its paces in the 2009 London-Paris Cycle Tour, as I did in the Cape Argus.
The helmet is light and the most comfortable I have ridden in. The whole Specialized equipment package is fantastic and really compliments my training and riding style.
