Lance Armstrong, Geoff Thomas and London-Paris Cycle Tour by The Times (17 Jan 09)

LanceA cloud of suspicion pursues Lance Armstrong, but I have only admiration for the guy. He provided inspiration when I was in a very dark place. Three days after I had chronic myeloid leukaemia diagnosed I received his autobiography from a friend. When you have been told you have cancer, it is natural to assume the worst. The very worst. Armstrong's book lifted me when I needed it most. He was proof that you could not only beat the illness but go on to achieve big things. As a sportsman, I found it compelling. For myself and millions of others, Armstrong is not just one of the greatest cyclists, but a guy who has used his fame to do so much good. Read the Times article...
