Christel House helps children around the world break the cycle of poverty, realize their hopes and dreams, and become self-sufficient, contributing members of their societies. By providing impoverished children with education, nutrition, health care and a nurturing environment, it transforms their lives. Through outreach services it empowers their families and communities.
More than 3000 children from slums and informal settlements attend Christel House learning centers daily. Their education emphasizes English, maths, technology and life skills, including the core values of respect, responsibility, independence and integrity.
Students receive nutritional meals, regular medical care, career counseling and an opportunity to pursue university and vocational studies. This comprehensive and holistic approach builds self-esteem and gives these young people the tools to make a better life for themselves and for future generations.
